Kicking off 2024 with our first event and honoured to have Doug Jones, Group CEO of Metcash as our guest speaker. We had 130 guests register for the event and had a beautiful evening in Sydney, looking over the harbour bridge.
Doug shared his story from the early days in South Africa and Canada, traversing multiple industries before landing in Australia amidst COVID to lead Metcash. He highlighted the significance of embracing a lived and dynamic vision, talked about cultural nuances and how to think about and motivate his team, and underscored the important role Australian independent stores play in the Australian economy – A National Treasure.
