About Giam Swiegers
Giam is Chair of Aurecon, a Non-Executive Director on the Aurecon Group Board, and a member of its People & Remuneration Committee. He was appointed Chair in January 2021 and has served on the Board since 2019. Prior to this, he was Chief Executive Officer of Aurecon (2015–2019), where he led a period of significant growth, innovation, and cultural transformation, and also chaired the Health and Safety Committee while serving across the Aurecon Group, Australasia, and South Africa Boards.
Before joining Aurecon, Giam was Chief Executive Officer of Deloitte Australia for 12 years, where he also contributed to Deloitte’s Global Board, Global Board Governance Committee, and Global Executive Committee. He is widely recognised for his leadership in innovation, high-performing organisations, and strong commitment to diversity and inclusion, particularly advancing opportunities for women in the workplace. His leadership has been associated with multiple accolades for Aurecon, including recognition as one of AFR’s Most Innovative Companies, LinkedIn’s Top Companies in Australia, and the AHRI Inclusive Workplace Award. He also serves as a Non-Executive Director of the Australian Design Council.
