About Andrew Abdo
Andrew is a South African-born Australian sports administrator and one of Australia’s leading sports executives. As Chief Executive Officer of Tennis Australia, he brings extensive experience in leadership, commercial strategy and organisational transformation. Prior to joining Tennis Australia, Andrew served as Chief Executive Officer of the National Rugby League (NRL) from 2020 to 2026, where he led the organisation through the COVID-19 pandemic while delivering record commercial growth and strengthening the game’s long-term future. Previously, he was the NRL’s Chief Commercial Officer and held senior roles at Deloitte. A qualified Chartered Accountant with an MBA, Andrew is widely recognised for driving innovation and high-performance across Australian sport.
